Boutique-Style Wines from Napa Valley

The essence of its terroir has established the Spring Mountain District as a favorite Napa Valley destination for multitudes of wine lovers. At Fantesca Estate & Winery, renowned terroir and artisan winemaking combine to produce wines of character and refinement that pair well with food, fun, and friends. This is exemplified in our current wine releases. Fantesca has been recognized by wine critic Robert Parker, Jr., who awarded a 90-point score to our inaugural 2002 release:

Our Wine

A relatively new operation, this 800-case winery on Spring Mountain dedicated to 100% Cabernet Sauvignon produced an outstanding 2002 vintage. Deep ruby purple in color with a sweet nose of black currants, licorice, earth, and some barrique smells, the wine shows impressive concentration as well as purity, moderately high tannin and a structured style that suggests 1–3 years of bottle age will be essential after its release. It should age nicely for 10–15 years. This is an impressive start!


Armed with these kudos from the world's most influential critic, Fantesca's wines had an auspicious start and have since received further accolades from Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits. Credit goes to the winemaking father-son duo of Nils and Kirk Venge, a talented and sought-after team who created Fantesca's first vintages.


Fantesca Estate & Winery's winemaker Heidi Barrett, who has been referred to as “The Wine Diva of Napa” and even “The First Lady of Wine,” is surely one of the hardest-working women in Napa Valley, if not the entire world of winemaking. Well-regarded for the exceptionally high quality of wines she has produced for Amuse Bouche, Screaming Eagle, Dalla Valle and her own winery, La Sirena, Heidi Barrett has assured her place as one of the world's premium producers of Napa Valley wines.
